Autumn Coffee

Deadlines are piling up. I need coffee. But I need- seasonal- coffee. A coffee that's going to make me feel like I'm actually outside and wrapped up warm, throwing amber leaves up into the air in the light of a roasting bonfire, rather than cramming an essay at 2am under the sterile lights of the library.
Seasonal Picks:
Pumpkin Spice Latte: Starbucks
Very sweet, like carrot cake in a cup. Made with espresso and milk and highlighted by notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove; topped with whipped cream. Starbucks sold 200 million Pumpkin Spice Lattes in the drink's first decade, it's safe to say this is a very popular autumn drink.
Bonfire Spiced Latte: Costa
Part of the autumn collection (includes the Bonfire Spiced Latte, Bonfire Spiced Cold Brew and Bonfire Spiced Hot Chocolate). Cosy and toasty. Strong notes of cinnamon.
Maple Latte: Starbucks
This was probably my favourite. Espresso, a smokey maple flavoured syrup and milk with whipped cream and finished with a maple sugar topping.
Homemade version:
I took a little inspiration from all 3 seasonal coffees to create this drink. If you don't like sweet, flavoured coffee, this definitely isn't the beverage for you!
Ingredients:
60ml milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon (plus extra for sprinkling the top)
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Caramelito Nespresso (Or instant coffee and a little caramel sauce)
Whipped cream
Maple syrup
Instructions:
Warm the milk with the cinnamon and nutmeg in the microwave.
Make the coffee.
Top with whipped cream.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with maple syrup (to taste).
I hope you love this a latte! x
